Shaun of the dead

Based loosely on the horror-zombie flick 'Dawn of the Dead', this movie is a British romantic zombie comedy created to bring laughs to even the most serious of folks.

Directed by: Edgar Wright
Cast: Simon Pegg, Kate Ashfield, Nick Frost, Lucy Davis

Shaun (Simon Pegg) is a decent chap nearing 30 and seriously in trouble with his life. His girlfriend, Liz (Kate Ashfield) just dumped him because he has no 'future'. His 'temporary boss' situation at his sales job sucks because no one from his team takes him seriously enough. His dad - step dad - gets on his nerves. And at the end of every tiring day he has to go between his flat mates, Ed and Pete, to try and stop them from getting at each other's throats.

As if this wasn’t enough while Shaun is busy surfing through channels, the news broadcast on how the dead have risen goes completely unnoticed.

The plot progresses as from the body of a console-loving dejected individual rose a zombie-fighting hero that has a tough task of saving his girlfriend, mother, flat mates and then keeping all of them alive at his favorite bar – the ‘Winchester’ Arms.

This rom zom com (romantic zombie comedy – apparently that's what this genre is called) is a highly entertaining flick, without too much ‘grossness’ to freak your girlfriend out and at the same time keep you laughing to the edge of your seat.
